Extra Credit Opportunity

 Janki's Futurism FlipGrid

- The main theme of the Futurism movement is the "technological triumph of humanity over nature."

- One famous artist from this movement is Giacomo Balla. He created Dynamism of a Dog on a Leash.

Avery's Nouveau FlipGrid

- Art Nouveau influenced not only painting but architecture as well.

- One artwork from this movement is The Kiss by Gustav Klimt, which I found to be very interesting.

Carina's Optical FlipGrid

- This art form is very different from other types of art because it has very abstract patterns and it also has perpetual effects.

- Minimalism came after the Optical movement and kept it alive because it focuses a lot on form,

Reid's Pointillism FlipGrid

- Georges Seurat, from France, is one of the main creators of Pointillism; he was the first to use the dots technique in painting.

- Neo Impressionism came about right when Pointillism did, however, Neo Impressionism uses tinier, finer dots.

Sarah's American Expressionism

- Many different artists brought different techniques to American Expressionism. For example, Jackson Pollock brought the "drip technique" and Willem de Kooning used "action painting."

- This movement is also called Abstract Impressionism and was impacted and inspired by WW2.

Margaret's Post-Impressionism

- Paul Cezanne (one of my favorite painters) was involved in this movement and his main goal was to provoke emotion from his audiences.

- I found it to be very interesting that the Eiffel Tower was built and opened just as the movement started.
