Starnes async #2

 

A successful painting is one that you can tell had strong effort to it, but also unique characteristics that make it stand out.

"Senecio" by Paul Klee is a very unique pice of art. I like the way Klee made use of various shapes to create a personified face. The mix of different colors sets the theme for the painting. The texture looks rough or gritty. It's unsymetricality defines the unperfectionist look to the painting as a whole. This is a successful painting because of the disregard to "perfect" symmetry and design. This creates it to be unique.
