Day and Night Tree by Carla Rodriguez
I think this painting is very cool because of the varying contrast in colors that depict the difference between day and night. The attention to detail showing the silhouette of the owl and the birds is really cool and the fact that there are leaves on the tree on the day side and the tree on the night side is bare really helps to add to the contrast shown here. The green color in the middle used to bring both sides together really does a great job of accenting the painting especially due to the fact that the two main colors of each side mixed together are green.
I agree, Henry. The contrasting colors create a unique "warm and cold" look to it. This look draws attention to the viewer. Definitely a successful painting.
