"Field of Poppies" by Van Gogh, 1890 (Complementary Color Scheme)
This painting displays a complementary color scheme, as the use of red and green, on opposite sides of the color wheel, creates a stark contrast in the scene.
"Irises in a Vase" by Van Gogh, 1890 (Analogous Color Scheme)
This painting displays an analogous color scheme, as the use of blue, green, and purple, neighbors on the color wheel, creates a sense of unity throughout the artwork.
I agree that the second use of the analogous color scheme created unity, it made the artwork appear almost calmer with the cool color scheme.
