In her food painting of the donuts, Chichi creates a sense of texture by incorporating modeling paint in thick brushstrokes to mimic the texture of the chocolate frosting and using gloss medium to create a glossy, shiny finish to the donuts. A sense of space, depth, and perspective is created by the fact the donuts in the back are drawn smaller than the ones on the foreground; the incorporation of the dunkin box cutout also introduces a sense of space, layer, and realism. The painting has vibrant colors as evident in the sprinkles, and the 3D forms of the desserts are communicated well through the highlights and shadows.
