What makes a “good” or successful painting?

A good or successful painting is neatly done, appears to have effort involved, and is visually interesting. As long as the artist has put effort into the painting and is satisfied with the result, the painting is "successful".

  2. I completely agree! This painting looks like the artist paid attention to detail with the mixture of colors and especially the detail of puddles.

  3. I agree. Painting that has true effort put into it, is always a great piece of artwork.
