Gildea Food Painting - Detweiler Elements of Art Description

 

In Gabby's birthday cake painting, she creates texture by using either modeling paste or thick layers of paint to create a realistic looking icing. She also shows the element of color by using a lime green to contrast against the dark brown and create value in the painting by using different shades of brown to show shading on the cake. Finally, she shows form by using real candles to create the 3d effect on the cake that makes this painting go above and beyond.
