What makes a “good” or successful painting? AND post a photo of a painting you believe meets your own criteria for “good” or “successful” painting.

To me, a "good" or successful painting is one that pleases the artist. Art doesn't always need to make sense or have a message, or look neat and pretty. If the artist is happy with whats on the canvas and it portrays what they want, I think a painting is successful. Also, if a painting is able or capture the audience's attention or make the view question what they're looking at or make them feel any kind of emotion, I think the painting is successful.

  1. I agree. I think that these paintings definitely capture the audience's attention. They are very expressive and emotional as well.
